SW Racing Team

2010 Redline Cup Qualifier at Steel Wheels BMX, Hobart, Indiana

GREAT JOB this weekend at Steel Wheels!  The team raced great:

Ben Smith was just a beast today.  He wanted it and went and got it.
Blake Riley owned the Money Open.
Christian's win in open coming from behind was impressive.
Ellery dominated her class.
Jared's battles with Tyshawn Carr were fun to watch.
Cade Mangel killed it and congrats to him for turning Intermediate.
RJ's win over Alan Struna was huge.
Ethan raced really solid and held his own in the tough 9X class.  I believe he pulled a 4th which is very respectable considering the competition.
Noah Luzzi, his race wasn't even close.  He flat out creamed his competition.  The low gearing/spinning that we teach is showing some fruit.  Kid's got ponies..

Sam "Wows" Us at ABA Grands

Congratulations to our 14 Girl Samantha Brown for her stellar performance at the ABA Grand Nationals.  Sam was featured in the NAG 5 Challenge and rode her way to main event appearances in both 14 Girl and 13-14 Mixed Open classes.  Sam finished in the NAG #4 spot for her class and proved herself to be among the Elite's and Future Stars.  Also, honorable mention to Jacob Bergonia for making his 7-8 Open Main, Joel Moore for proving he belongs in the Vet Pro class, Jackie Altizer for another NAG quality year, Corey Ross for wiping up the novice class all weekend and Meghan Pritchard for almost making her main event on Cruiser.

2009 Indiana ABA State Championships

Sunday the 20th of September at Imagination Glen BMX featured the Indiana ABA BMX State Championships.  The weather was absolutely perfect and thanks to the awesome volunteers of Imagination Glen BMX so was the track conditions.  The states best riders came to compete, many belonging to the top teams in the state.  Three teams entered team competition for the day including Cycle Sports Racing, Z-Force and our very own SW Racing.  The team competition was stiff but we had plenty of the top riders in the classes to ensure ourselves a great shot for the win.  Many of our riders won their respective classes and our team sheet was solid.  In fact, when all was said and done we had a perfect team sheet featuring 5 wins, one which would have to be scratched as you can only count your 4 best.  Either way, with a score of 176 we were able to take the top spot in team competition edging out Z-Force by 3 points and CSR by 6.  We would like to say “good job” to both squads for putting together some good scores themselves.

Individually speaking, when  the dust settle we finished with 15 State Champions.  A few upsets were had and teammates were up against each other for the top positions in each age group.  I am proud of the class displayed by our riders toward each other as they offered congratulations to their opposition/teammates.  We team managers appreciate the effort of all our riders who came to battle.  To a rider, we were well represented in all classes.  Listed below are this years Indiana State Champs.  Thanks for making this the coolest team around.

2009 ABA Redline Cup Finals, East Region

SW Racing had 6 riders competing at the East Region Redline Cup Championship in Garner, N.C..  The SW crew came home with 3 plates.  Big Congrats to Sam Brown for being the RLC Champion this year and to Jared Wright and Austin Larson for their 3rd place finishes in the RLC standings.  Honorable mention goes out to Patrick Blake, Tyler Cooper and Steve Cooper for giving their best effort on the track as well.

The SW Racing Team invaded Lowell, Indiana Saturday Aug. 1st.  Most of our team was able to make the trip over and there were two other teams that showed up including CSR and Z-Force.  We opted to run two team sheets and ended up with two really good scores including a perfect teamsheet totaling 179 points.  I thought it would have been an easy win until Z-Force turned in an awesome 171 score to make it closer than it seemed.  Apparently we got em on rider count.  Good job to those guys for bringing the heat.

Individual results had Sam Brown, Robert Rys, Christian Cloutier, Jediah Cloutier, Alex Hope and Steve Cooper taking class wins.  Also, Meghan Pritchard got a win in cruiser along with Sugar Rush Geissler.  Brandon Brown took the win in the Pro/Am and Robert Rys gave him a run for his money.  Honorable mention to the rest of our crew who all raced really hard and gave it their best effort.  Most of us will be racing stop #3 at Imagination Glen August 8th.
